The comprehensive reform of this old two-storey house, located in the town center of a town of Baix Llobregat, has eliminated practically all the original elements of the building, maintaining only the structure of the building. Clysahas been in charge of designing the most important space for the owner, a restaurant professional who, above all, wanted to have a comfortable, practical and equipped kitchen to meet their high standards.
The stay receives abundant natural light, through the large glass doors that lead to a terrace with dining area and garden. Users also have an orchard with fruit trees in this area, from which they obtain ingredients to make their dishes.
The luminosity is powered by a furniture in white, design LINE-E White Seff de Santos, defined by its minimalist profile, smooth fronts and without handle. This effect is reinforced by installing a Silestone White marble Carrara Venato countertop which, with its dark streaks, gives personality to the kitchen. To achieve a clean, clear and without visual obstacles, high furniture is ignored. In this same line, the extraction of fumes is solved with a bell recessed to ceiling of Novy, much more discreet than the traditional decorative bells.
This kitchen also bets on the so-so- gray and white model. The tone of the porcelain floor and the walls finished in microcement, together with the dark notes of some appliances and auxiliary furniture, provide a fresh and elegant touch to the whole.
For its part, the wood present in the decorative panel, table, stools and chairs, confers warmth and balance to an environment thought to work, but also to enjoy in company.
As a final detail, in the outside dining room the same flooring is applied as in the kitchen. In addition, an oak table is installed with the same style and characteristics as the interior. In this way, it gives continuity and uniformity to both spaces.
Clysa organizes the kitchen around a large central island, which incorporates the cooking area and a large work surface. The rest of the furniture is distributed in parallel on both sides of this element. Along a partition is a linear five low furniture with worktop, which serve as preparation and scouring area.
In the opposite wall, flanking the door that communicates the room with the dining room, are located two areas of column cabinets. These compositions agglutinate, in a compact and organized space, several appliances and storage solutions. With this planning it is possible to extract the maximum of the plant without overloading the environment, facilitating the organization and the work in the kitchen.
In addition, the free runner around the island provides greater freedom of movement for users, who can share tasks or spaces without bothering.
The LINE-E design of Santos has a smooth front without handle that, besides being esthetic, allows the opening at any point. This is due to its continuous collar system, an aluminum profile fixed in the furniture that leaves room to pull the front and can open it comfortably and safely. The collar system is applied to both the low furniture and the column cabinets.
The planning of this kitchen is a good reflection of the lifestyle of its users. On the one hand, they needed to incorporate large work surfaces and equipment with high performance, in keeping with the owner’s culinary experience. On the other hand, they wanted to have comfortable and pleasant spaces to enjoy in the company of the dishes they make, as they are often visited by family and friends.
